4th Of July At Your Bar
Let’s R.O.C.K in the USA this 4th of July! Or for the younger crowd, “It’s a Party In The USA!” It is time to break out the jello shots, hot dogs, and firecrackers.
4th of July is coming up and it is time to knock this year’s party out of the park. A number of bars will close their doors for this holiday, so this is the perfect opportunity to stay open and grab your competitor’s customers. We suggest you invest a small amount of money in games, food, drinks, and entertainment to throw this bash.
Make some patriotic drinks:
Blue Long Island Iced Tea:
1 oz. Vodka
1 oz. Gin
1 oz. Rum
1 oz. Tequila
1 oz. Blue Curacao Liqueur
3 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
1.5 oz Simple Syrup
Add ice cubes to a glass, pour in all the liquor, as well as the lemon juice and simple syrup. Shake. Top with blue curacao. Garnish with a lemon wedge!
Red, White, & Blue Shots
1 Part Grenadine
1 Part Vodka
1 Part Blue Curacao
Layer all three liquids in a shot glass.
Strawberry & Blueberry Mojito
1.5 oz. rum
Fresh lime Juice
Sugar
Club Soda
Strawberry’s
Blueberries
Fresh Mint Leaves
Muddle strawberries, blueberries, mint, lime juice and sugar in a glass. Add the rum and stir to combine. Add ice to the glass and top with club soda. Garish with more blueberries, strawberries, and mint leaves.
*Make a big batch of this drink to make it easier on your bartenders. A punch bowl or even a mason jug dispenser to serve the guests quickly.
Other drink ideas:
Red, White, & Blue Jello Shots
Red sangria with blueberries
Vodka Lemonade with strawberries & blueberries
Games & Activities:
Host a tailgate party at your venue. Invest in some fun games and activities- corn hole or giant Jenga. But, if you really want to be the hot spot in town for the 4th of July, host a Patriotic Beer Pong Tournament.
Setup:
Buy some Red and Blue solo cups.
Grab a couple 22 x 28 poster boards and sharpies.
Create a bracket on your poster and have teams sign up and pay an entry fee
Create a list of house rules on your other poster for the game
Have prizes (gift card, bar tab, free drinks) that will be awarded to the winning team
Promote this tournament on all social media
Food:
Of course, have your grill and fryer ready to whip up hot dogs, hamburgers, and wings. If you are trying to go the extra mile with your menu think about these fun options:
Fried apple pie
Fried corn on the cob
Create your own burger/hot dog bar
Popsicle's/Snow cones
Entertainment:
Hire a DJ
This is an obvious must. The crowd will want to stay if there is good music. Allow customers to request songs for a period of time.
Hire a local band
Live music can be an awesome addition to the entertainment you already have. Dance floor necessary.
Hire an artist to face paint
If you want your spot to be kid friendly or for the whole fam, hire an artist for face painting or arts and crafts.
