How to Celebrate Independence Day with a Scavenger Hunt!
This Fourth of July happens to fall on a Wednesday, smack dab in the middle of the week. Customers may opt to spend this holiday with their loved ones, but that doesn’t mean you can’t engage your bar crowd before, during, and after the Fourth has passed!
We’ve come up with this super simple Scavenger Hunt Photo Contest that is sure to be a hit with your customers. Many people will be out and about capturing pictures of the holiday, so the idea here is to tie in your bar as the home base during the week.
Here is a general list of items that you can pick from:
Something red
Something blue
Something white
Ice Cream
A Red, white and blue dessert
An Old Navy T-Shirt on someone
Picnic table with people eating
Hot dog
Hamburger
An American Flag
Fireworks
American Flag with fireworks in the background
Choose 5 or 6 items from the list, so your customers don’t get overwhelmed. Then, announce your photo contest before the fourth of July so that people have time to prepare.
After the Fourth (perhaps Friday), use Facebook to receive your submissions. Post a status for each separate item, so people can comment with their photos.
It would be ideal to give a small prize for each category, to make things easy on you. Gift certificates are the perfect way to entice patronage ($5 to $10 is often enough to incentivize customers).
Don't forget to stress that your bar wants customers to vote on their favorites. Involve your staff as well for a "staff pick" or best photo of the contest for an additional prize. Remember, we want more butts in your bar seats, and that's the end goal here.
KEY TIP: Facebook’s page algorithms have changed in recent months, which means declining post reach for your bar. To ensure success with this contest, strongly consider boosting these posts for a few dollars each so that they reach more people.
